Abstract

For large semi-submersible vessels with DP2 positioning capability,the implementation of redundancy design profoundly impacts the configuration of all major systems.The"HUA RUI LONG"—a large four-island DP2 semi-submersible vessel—employs diverse electrical redundancy approaches,including dual-redundant independent systems,dual power supplies,and cross-connected power distribution.This paper analyzes the redundancy design of its critical systems,such as the main power station,bow thruster,and main propulsion system.It summarizes the key principles,design methodologies,and critical technologies for redundancy in such vessels,providing valuable insights for the redundancy design of DP2 electric propulsion ships.
