Fuzzy Adaptive Frequency Control of Supercapacitor Energy Storage System

Abstract
Aiming to address the frequency fluctuations caused by source-load power imbalance in the microgrids,this paper proposes a fuzzy adaptive frequency control strategy based on model predictive control(MPC)for supercapacitor energy storage systems(SESS)to enhance system frequency stability.Firstly,a frequency controller satisfying grid-connection constraints is designed based on fuzzy control.This controller enables adaptive frequency control according to the frequency fluctuation and SESS energy state.Crucially,by incorporating SESS charge/discharge capabilities within the fuzzy rules,overcharge/over-discharge conditions of the SESS are prevented.Secondly,a voltage controller targeting power dynamic balance is designed to suppress DC bus voltage fluctuations and improve the SESS power balancing speed.Concurrently,an MPC-based current control strategy is proposed,which derives optimal control action using only local information from the SESS,ensuring rapid response.Finally,a simulation model incorporating high power load step changes is established under multiple operating conditions.Comparative studies are conducted against conventional linear controllers for power and frequency regulation to validate the correctness and efficacy of the proposed method.The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy significantly reduces the fluctuation amplitudes of both frequency and bus voltage,remarkably enhances the microgrid's resilience against power disturbances,providing an effective solution for frequency emergency control.关键词
