Data Quality Improvement Strategy for Wide-area Measurement System based on PMU Voltage Selection

Abstract
The synchronous Phasor Measurement Unit furnishes precise data for the monitoring of power grid operation.However,data quality problems have become increasingly prominent due to causes such as communication disruptions and equipment malfunctions.At a certain engineering site,abnormal power oscillation emerged in the data sent from the PMU to the main station.The analysis disclosed that the direct cause was the incorrect selection of bus voltage.The complex power grid configuration at the engineering site poses challenges to voltage selection.In this paper,the decision-making effects of each voltage selection scheme are quantitatively evaluated based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process,comprehensively considering the merits and demerits as well as the adaptability of the schemes.Eventually,it is recommended to employ a voltage switching device to select the bus voltage in specific scenarios.This device,by connecting to the disconnector of the primary equipment,automatically selects the optimal voltage source to ensure that the bus voltage synchronously switches along with the operation mode of the primary equipment,guaranteeing the accuracy and consistency of PMU data collection and thereby enhancing the data quality of PMU.The research findings provide scientific decision support for practical application scenarios related to bus voltage selection.Combined with the local power grid operation conditions,they offer effective solutions for improving data quality and optimizing power grid monitoring.关键词
