Abstract

In response to the insufficient collision compatibility of a certain vehicle model in the 50%frontal overlap mobile progressive deformable barrier(MPDB)condition,the evaluation indicators of collision compatibility were explained and design suggestions were provided.Taking a certain passenger car as the research object,through real vehicle tests,it was found that the standard deviation(SD)of the barrier deformation at the present stage was 179.1 mm,the occupant load criterion(OLC)on the sled was 33.3g(g=9.81 m/s2),and the"bottoming out"phenomenon occurred.The vehicle compatibility penalty score was 5.1 points,which did not meet the design requirements.A finite element simulation model was established through the software HyperMesh,and the validity of the simulation model was verified by comparing the energy change curves and the deformation modes of the vehicle body and the barrier,as well as the collision compatibility and acceleration curves in the experiment and simulation.Through the analysis of the collision compatibility evaluation indicators and the deficiencies in the structural design,the anti-collision beam,the front longitudinal beam and the subframe were optimized,and the scheme was verified.The results show that through structural improvement and force transmission path optimization,the SD value was reduced from the original 179.1 mm to 116.3 mm,the OLC value was slightly affected by the structural strength and force transmission path,increasing from the original 33.3g to 33.9g,and the"bottoming out"phenomenon of the barrier was effectively avoided.The compatibility penalty score was reduced to 2.5 points,and the overall vehicle compatibility was significantly improved,providing a reference for the development of subsequent new models.
