Effects of 577 nm subthreshold micropulse laser on macular structure and microcirculation in patients with acute central serous chorioretinopathy

摘要

Abstract

Objective To observe the changes of macular structure and microcirculation in patients with acute central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC)after 577 nm subthreshold micropulse laser(SML)treatment.Methods Retro-spective case study.Included 36 patients(36 eyes)diagnosed with acute CSC and leakage point within 500 μm of the macular fovea in the Su Bei Hospital from August 2022 to October 2023.Results(1)Best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)in acute CSC patients was significantly higher at 3 months following treatment than before the treatment(P<0.05).(2)Central macular thickness(CMT)was significantly lower at 1 month and 3 months following therapy compared to before the treatment(all P<0.05).The subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT)at 1 and 3 months following SML treatment was lower than that before the treatment,and the difference was found to be statistically significant(all P<0.05).Chorio-capillaris vessel density(CCVD)increased significantly at 3 months following treatment compared to at 1 month following treatment(P<0.05).At 3 months after SML therapy,foveal superficial capillary plexus vessel density(SCPVD)and fo-veal deep capillary plexus vessel density(DCPVD)were significantly decreased compared with those before the treatment(all P<0.05).(3)The vessel density around the foveal avascular zone 300 μm wide ring(FD-300)was significantly higher at 1 month and 3 months following therapy than before the treatment(all P<0.05).Conclusions For patients with acute CSC with the leakage point located within 500 μm of the macular fovea,577 nm-SML treatment can quickly reduce the CMT and SFCT,and gradually increase the CCVD,reduce the SCPVD and DCPVD.
