Abstract
Objective To study and evaluate the use of iTrace aberrometer(iTrace for short)to calculate the model and axial position of Toric intraocular lens(Toric IOL)as well as perform corneal astigmatism marking before sur-gery,and measure the IOL axial position after surgery without mydriasis.Methods Prospective case-control study.Be-tween September 2023 and September 2024,twenty-three patients(30 eyes)who received cataract surgery accompanied by toric IOL implantation were included in this study,conducted at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical Univer-sity.Randomly assign the patients to two groups.The experimental group used iTrace to calculate the Toric IOL model as well as axis position and mark corneal astigmatism before surgery;the control group used Alcon Online Toric IOL Calcula-tor to calculate the Toric IOL model as well as axis position and narrow light band of the slit lamp was used to mark corneal astigmatism.Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),best corrected distance visual acuity(BCDVA),residual astig-matism and The Toric IOL axis were measured at 1wk,1mon and 3mon after the surgery to analyze the differences and cor-relations between the two groups in astigmatism planning.Results The Toric IOL models implanted in all patients before surgery were SN6AT3(4 eyes),SN6AT4(9 eyes),SN6AT5(10 eyes),SN6AT6(2 eyes),SN6AT7(3 eyes),and SN6AT8(2 eyes).Postoperative residual astigmatism was low in both groups at all follow-up time points and showed a sig-nificant reduction compared to preoperative corneal astigmatism(intragroup comparison,all P<0.05).However,inter-group comparisons revealed no statistically significant differences in preoperative corneal astigmatism or postoperative re-sidual astigmatism at all points(all P>0.05).Both groups exhibited significant improvements in UDVA and BCDVA post-operatively compared to baseline(intragroup comparison,all P<0.05).However,intergroup comparisons showed no sta-tistically significant differences in UDVA or BCDVA at any preoperative or postoperative time point(all P>0.05).At all postoperative follow-ups,IOL axis deviation did not differ significantly between the two groups(all P>0.05).Addition-ally,the measured IOL axis at each time point showed no significant deviation from the preoperatively planned axis in ei-ther group(all P>0.05).Linear regression analysis between the preoperative planned axis and postoperative measured axis demonstrated a strong linear relationship with high positive correlation,achieving a goodness-of-fit(R2>0.99)in both groups.Conclusions iTrace astigmatism planning is objective,accurate,convenient and quick in Toric IOL implan-tation,which has certain clinical application value.关键词
