Abstract
Objective To compare the visual quality of high myopic cataract patients implanted with aspheric monofocal intraocular lenses(preloaded IOL:AQBHL)and extended depth of focus intraocular lenses(TECNIS Symfony IOL:ZXR00),and to evaluate the clinical efficacy of ZXR00 IOL in high myopic cataract patients.Methods Prospective case-control study.A total of 42 high myopic cataract patients(58 eyes)who visited the Anhui No.2 Provincial People's Hospital from October 2022 to July 2024 were enrolled.Based on the IOL chosen by the patients,they were divided into the AQBHL group and the ZXR00 group.Both groups underwent phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation.Data collected at 6 months postoperatively included uncorrected distance visual acuity(UCDVA),best-corrected distance visual acuity(BCVA),uncorrected near visual acuity(UCNVA),and uncorrected intermediate visual acuity(UCIVA).Defocus curves were plotted,and the iTrace system was used to measure the root mean square(RMS)values of total higher-order aberrations(tHOA),total spherical aberration(TS),total coma(TC),and total trefoil(TT)at 6 months postoperatively.Additionally,a modified version of the Visual Function Index(VF-14-CN)adapted for domestic patients was used to as-sess preoperative and 6-month postoperative scores for near vision function,stereopsis,subjective sensation,and sensory adaptation.Differences between the two groups were compared.Results At 6 months postoperatively,the ZXR00 group showed significantly better UCDVA,UCNVA,and UCIVA than the AQBHL group(P<0.001),while there was no signifi-cant difference in BCVA between the two groups(P>0.05).In the defocus curve,the ZXR00 group exhibited a stable trend in the range of 0.5 D to-1.5 D,with visual acuity better than 0.1(logMAR),while the AQBHL group showed stabil-ity in the range of 0.5 D to-0.5 D,with visual acuity better than 0.1(logMAR).The ZXR00 group had significantly lower tHOA,TC,and TT than the AQBHL group(P<0.001),but there was no significant difference in TS between the two groups(P>0.05).In the VF-14-CN scale,the ZXR00 group scored higher in total score,near vision function,subjective sensation,and sensory adaptation than the AQBHL group(P<0.001).Conclusions Both AQBHL IOL and ZXR00 IOL can improve postoperative visual acuity and visual quality in high myopic cataract patients.Implantation of ZXR00 IOL in high myopic cataract patients provides effective full-range vision,reduces higher-order aberrations,and offers more satis-factory visual quality,significantly enhancing patient satisfaction and demonstrating superior clinical efficacy.关键词
