Abstract

In order to improve the functionality of firefighting clothing comfort layer fabric,based on cotton fabric,by utilizing the properties of dopamine self aggregation film and its in-situ reduction of copper ions into nano copper particles,three(2-hydroxyethyl)isocyanurate(THEIC)and ammonium polyphosphate(APP)were used as expansion flame-retardant systems,and the fabric was treated by impregnation baking method a new type of antibacterial and flame-retardant cotton fabric was prepared.The flame-retardant property of cotton fabrics treated with different mass ratios of flame retardants were discussed.The results showed when the concentration of dopamine was 5 mmol/L,the concentration of CuSO4 was 40 mmol/L,and the mass ratio of THEIC/APP flame retardant was 1∶3,the antibacterial rate of the modified cotton fabric was reached 99.9%.After the fire source was removed,it could immediately extinguish itself,and the damage length was reduced from 30 cm to 7.2 cm,with no further burning or smoldering phenomenon.The surface resistivity was 8.84×109 Ω,which meet B level standard for evaluating the electrostatic performance of textiles.It is believed that the modified fabrics exhibit excellent antibacterial and flame-retardant effect,as well as better anti-static and washable property.
