How Hermeneutics as Practical Philosophy

Abstract
The debate within China's hermeneutics community about the"going"and"turning"between Gadamer's mid-period philosophical hermeneutics and his later practical philosophy has been ongoing for a long time.Upon deeper reflection,it becomes clear that philosophical hermeneutics resists the universal control of scientific methodology by focusing on the theme of existential self-understanding;later phronesis resists the pervasive encroachment of science and technology on human life by centering on phronesis.From the specific application of phronesis,existential self-understanding is phronesis;both imply humanity's factual reflection,planning,and judgment regarding their own existence.Thus,the focal issue of the debate between the"Statement of Going"and the"Statement of Turning"has also been answered,that is,Gadamer's practical philosophy is not the expansion of philosophical hermeneutics in the dimension of practical philosophy,philosophical hermeneutics is practical philosophy;his later scholarship is just a deepening of the mid-term scholarship,and did not turn to ethics,and the writing of the first draft of Truth and Method is the starting point of his research on practical philosophy.关键词
