Exploration of the pathogenesis and treatment principles of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome based on the principle of"spleen as the guard"

Abstract
Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D)is a common and challenging disorder of the digestive system characterized by prolonged course,easy recurrence,and difficult to cure.The theory of"the spleen as the guard"in traditional Chinese medicine summarizes the function of a healthy spleen and abundant qi to resist external pathogens and protect zang fu viscera.Intestinal mucosal immunity,as an important component of body immunity,is closely related to the incidence of IBS-D.This article proposes the pathogenesis of IBS-D from the perspective of"spleen as the guard",namely,spleen deficiency as the root cause,obstruction of meridians by turbid qi,loss of movement in the middle earth,restlessness of the five organs,inability of muscles to resist evil,and inappropriate regulation.It is believed that the treatment principle for IBS-D should focus on replenishing qi and strengthening the spleen,elinimating pathogens and dredging collaterals,harmonizing the middle earth,regulating the five internal organs,strengthening body resistance for consolidating superficies syndrome,and preventing diseases before they occur.关键词
