Abstract

Stratigraphic comparison and division,fundamental challenges in geological research,are constrained by incomplete research materials,which complicates the establishment of high-precision chronological frameworks for certain sections.Therefore,based on the Late Ordovician Guttenberg Carbon Isotopic excursion(GICE)event,the construction and correlation of the chronostratigraphic framework are explored.Stratigraphic studies are conducted on the Dawangou section,and the GICE chronostratigraphic framework is established by integrating biostratigraphy,carbon isotope stratigraphy,and cyclostratigraphy methods.Comparisons are made with sections in South China,North America,and Europe.The G1,G2 and G3 peaks of the Cincinnati section in North America,the Daling section and Liangcun section in South China,and the Fjäcka section in Europe are redefined.The results show that the Cincinnati section in North America lacks most of the G1 peak,while the G2 and G3 peaks are well-preserved.The Daling and Liangcun section in South China only retain partial G1 peak,with complete records of G2 and G3 peaks,suggesting that their Sandbian strata are not entirely absent.Although the Fjäcka section in Europe lacks biostratigraphic constraints,a comprehensive chronostratigraphic division can still be achieved by integrating the GICE records from the section.
