Empowerment or Disempowerment:Data Elements and Green Technology Innovation in Heavy Polluting Enterprises

Abstract
With the continuous development and application of the new generation of information technology and digital technology,data elements has gradually become the core production elements of new quality productivity attributed to its significant multiplier effect,and whether it can promote the green technological innovation of heavy polluting enterprises is an important issue worthy of study.Taking Chinese A-share listed companies in the heavy polluting industry from 2013 to 2022 as the research object,the "empowerment" or "disempowerment" effect of data elements in the process of green technological innovation of enterprises is analyzed in-depth.The study finds that data elements "empower" the green technology innovation of the heavy polluting enterprises.Mechanism analysis shows that data elements can stimulate enterprises' green technological innovation by improving resource allocation efficiency and increase R&D investment.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the positive impact of data elements on the green innovation performance of enterprises is more significant in the enterprises with stronger environmental regulations,in the eastern region and with higher levels of intelligence.The above findings provide solid evidence for improving the role of data elements in green technology innovation in heavy polluting enterprises.关键词
