Abstract

[Purposes]This paper aims to study the temporal and spatial evolution of surface subsidence in the Baisha Reservoir coal mining area in Henan Province.[Methods]This paper selected the European Space Agency Sentinel-1A image data from December 7,2015 to March 7,2017,and the multi-temporal interferometric synthetic aperture radar(MT-InSAR)was used to carry out deformation monitoring research on 20 remote sensing images of the Sentinel-1A orbiting satellite.Specifically,two sets of time-series deformation results in this region were obtained by using persistent scatterer InSAR(PS-InSAR)and small baseline subsets InSAR(SBAS-InSAR)techniques in MT-InSAR technology.A cumulative subsidence point change analysis,a subsidence basin profile analysis,and a time-series analysis of subsidence feature points were carried out.At the same time,the time-series deformation results were compared with the measured leveling results for accuracy verification.[Findings]There are three typical subsidence basins in the study area,and the maximum cumulative subsidence amount is 141 mm.The temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the two groups of results maintain a good consistency.The study area is dominated by linear subsidence.The root mean square errors of the subsidence results obtained by using PS-InSAR and SBAS-InSAR technologies from the measured data of the leveling survey were±8 mm and±6 mm,respectively,accounting for 5.7%and 4.3%of the maximum cumulative subsidence amount in the mining area.[Conclusions]Through the cross-validation of the two sets of experimental results,the correlation coefficient is as high as 0.825 8,which confirms the feasibility of MT-InSAR technology in monitoring the deformation of this mining area,and it can provide reference for safe mining and environmental protection in the local mining area.
