Abstract

The cultural capital in vocational education curriculum holds significant value for cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents while facilitating their social mobility.Drawing on the theory of cultural capital,the three manifestations of cultural capital in vocational education curriculum,concretization,objectification,and institutionalization,correspond respectively to skill-based operational practices,materialized knowledge carriers,and competency-based value certification within the experiential provision of vocational education curriculum.The efficacy of cultural capital in vocational education curriculum in advancing technical and skilled talents development unfolds through a threefold logic:the internalizing of implicit experience into explicit competencies through the concretization of cultural capital;the transformation of information storage into skill production via the objectification of cultural capital through practical translation;and the elevation qualification certification to competency credentials through the institutionalization of cultural capital via occupational anchoring.However,in practice,inefficient conversion of experience hinders curriculum development;scarce contextual provision constrains teaching implementation;and misalignment of competencies weakens evaluation efficacy.These challenges collectively impede the transformation of cultural capital from curriculum ownership to student-centered acquisition.Therefore,it is necessary for vocational college to strengthen the competency-triggering features of curriculum content,embed contextual requirements into teaching models,and construct a diverse and symbiotic landscape of evaluation mechanisms.This approach will more effectively unleash the empowering potential of cultural capital in vocational education curriculum.
