Abstract

In recent years,electric power systems with a high penetration of grid-connected renewable sources have frequently experienced wide-frequency oscillation incidents,resulting in severe consequences such as grid disconnection of renewable sources and widespread power outages.Unlike traditional power systems,these oscillations exhibit a new characteristic known as frequency coupling,arising from frequency coexistence at multiple points.This further complicates the systems'interactive coupling properties,making small-signal modeling and stability analysis more challenging.To elucidate the principles of wide-frequency oscillations associated with grid-connected inverters,this paper proposes a small-signal stability analysis method for LCL grid-following photovoltaic inverters that incorporates frequency coupling,and presents a sequence modeling approach for LCL grid-following inverters,which accounts for the dynamics characteristics of various control loops within these devices.Subsequent analyses reveal the causes of the frequency coupling phenomena and verify the correctness of theoretical modeling results through frequency sweeping simulations.Further investigations examine the affected frequency bands and influence trends of individual control parameters on the impedance characteristics of these inverters,identifying the control loop primarily responsible for wide-frequency oscillations related to grid-connected inverters.The proposed methods provide theoretical support and technical guidance for grid-connected inverters in renewable-powered systems in terms of parameter setting,oscillation analysis,and oscillation suppression.
