Abstract

As a new transmission method,Fractional frequency transmission uses lower frequencies to transmit electricity.It has received widespread attention in medium and long-distance offshore wind power,onshore wind power,and flexible interconnection of urban power grids.The overvoltage caused by system failures seriously affects the security and stability of electrical equipment and systems.In response to the unclear research status of the mechanism and characteristics of overvoltage generation in fractional frequency transmission systems,this paper conducts simulation analysis on the overvoltage distribution characteristics and the main factors affecting the overvoltage distribution of an 800MW onshore wind power fractional frequency system in Gansu province.It reveals the mechanism of system overvoltage generation under typical faults,quantitatively analyzes the impact of transformer wiring and interlocking on the overvoltage distribution characteristics of the fractional frequency system,and proposes a lightning arrester configuration scheme that considers both economic and technical indicators and is optimized comprehensively.This scheme can effectively suppress the system overvoltage level below 1.82 pu.The research results provide an important basis for designing fractional frequency transmission projects.
