Decentralized Adaptive Frequency Support Control of Distributed PV Sources

Abstract
With the explosive growth of distributed photovoltaic(PV)penetration,the traditional passive access method mainly based on maximum power point tracking(MPPT)increasingly threatens the frequency security and stability of the system.The demand for active support for system frequency by distributed PV sources becomes increasingly urgent.The existing active support strategies require online estimation of their maximum available power,which is a large computation burden and makes it difficult to adapt to rapid changes in environmental conditions.Because of this,a quantitative characterization parameter is proposed,which represents the real-time output power of the PV system as a ratio to the current maximum available power,thus avoiding the online estimation of the maximum available power.Based on this PV power characterization parameter,a decentralized adaptive active frequency support control strategy is designed,which allows the parallel distributed PV sources to adjust their power characterization parameters according to frequency changes adaptively and,thus,proportionally regulate their reserve power to respond to system disturbances actively,suppress frequency fluctuations,while improving the system efficiency,ensuring fair power generation,and reducing unreasonable waste of solar resources.Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the system's transient frequency response characteristics.关键词
