Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of the Dragon-Tiger Contending needling technique combined with Chinese herbal fumigation in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH)of qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome. Methods A total of 80 patients with LDH of qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome admitted to People's Hospital of Gangcheng District between February and December 2023 were selected as the study participants.Using the random number table method, they were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the observation group received additional treatment with the Dragon-Tiger Contending needling technique combined with Chinese herbal fumigation. Before and after treatment, the two groups were compared in terms of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores, lower back and leg pain(measured by the Visual Analogue Scale,VAS),and lumbar function(assessed by the Japanese Orthopaedic Association score,JOA).Results After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and VAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01),while the JOA scores were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The Dragon-Tiger Contending needling technique combined with Chinese herbal fumigation shows favorable efficacy in treating LDH of qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome. It can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, reduce lower back pain, and partially restore lumbar function, making it worthy of clinical promotion.关键词
