Effect of levetiracetam combined with multifunctional near-infrared spectroscopy on epilepsy and influence on the levels of neuroinflammatory markers

Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of levetiracetam combined with multifunctional near-infrared spectroscopy on epilepsy and its impact on the levels of neuroinflammatory markers.Methods Using the lottery method,80 epilepsy patients admitted to Tongchuan People's Hospital from 2020 to 2024 were divided into observation group and control group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with levetiracetam,while the observation group received multifunctional near-infrared spectroscopy treatment in addition to the control group.The clinical efficacy,changes in T lymphocyte subsets and neuroinflammatory markers,cognitive function,and serum related factor levels before and after treatment between the two groups were compared.Results Compared with the control group,the observation group had a higher overall effective rate(92.50%vs 72.50%,P<0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group had higher CD4+and interleukin-5(IL-5)levels,and lower CD8+,Th/Ts,interleukin-1β(IL-1β),and interferon-γ(IFN-γ)levels(P<0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group had higher levels of nerve growth factor(NGF)and lower levels of neuron-specific enolase(NSE)(P<0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group had higher Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)scores and mini-mental state examination(MMSE)scores(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of levetiracetam and multifunctional near-infrared spectroscopy can enhance the clinical efficacy of epilepsy,improve the stability of T lymphocyte subsets,reduce neuroinflammatory reactions,improve the levels of neurofunctional factors,and enhance cognitive function.关键词
