摘要

Abstract

Autoimmune encephalitis(AE)is an inflammatory syndrome affecting the central nervous system,triggered by autoantibodies.Depending on the antibody type,AE is categorized into three subtypes:anti-cell surface antigen,anti-intracellular synaptic antigen,and anti-intracellular antigen antibodies encephalitis.Notably,anti-NMDAR encephalitis is the most prevalent among these.Given the intricate nature of AE,its wide range of clinical presentations,and the diverse antibody types involved,early diagnosis coupled with prompt intervention holds the key to improving patient outcomes and minimizing recurrence.Currently,neuronal antibody detection serves as the primary diagnostic tool for AE.However,this approach is hindered by drawbacks,such as lengthy processing times and elevated false negative rates influenced by subjective factors.Moreover,a considerable proportion of AE cases remain undiagnosed due to the absence of detectable antibodies,highlighting an urgent need for alternative diagnostic methods.This article focusing on anti-NMDAR encephalitis as a case study,aims to underscore the significance of early diagnosis in AE.It accomplishes this through an analysis of clinical manifestations,an evaluation of 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging techniques,and the identification of potential biomarkers.By synthesizing these perspectives,the article offers novel insights and directions to inform early diagnosis for AE.
