摘要

Abstract

Hepcidin is a peptide-based iron regulatory factor primarily synthesized in the liver.It modulates iron absorption,transport,and storage by binding to ferroportin,inducing its internalization.In the nervous system,its expression is regulated by factors,such as iron levels and inflammation through corresponding signaling pathways.In recent years,this peptide has garnered significant attention in the context of neurological diseases,particularly in neurodegenerative disorders,stroke,brain injury,and chronic neuropathic pain,where notable progress has been made.As a result,Hepcidin holds promise as a novel therapeutic target for neurological diseases,offering potential new treatment strategies.
