Abstract
The coarse-sand region of the middle Yellow River,located on the Loess Plateau,is an area severely affected by soil erosion.Understanding the relationship between sediment connectivity and hydrological processes in this region plays a crucial role in formulating soil and water conservation strategies.By selecting 30 watersheds in the coarse-sand region of the middle Yellow River,the runoff and sediment data were analyzed,the sediment connectivity indices were calculated and the spatial comparisons across multiple watersheds were conducted based on the observed data from hydrological stations during 2006-2016.The results showed that sediment connectivity in the coarse-sand region decreased over time,reducing the likelihood of erosion and sediment production.Spatially,sediment connectivity exhibited a trend of being higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast.Sediment transport was primarily driven by runoff,while structural connectivity was mainly influenced by vegetation cover and slope.Significant positive correlations were found between sediment connectivity and sediment yield,maximum sediment concentration,and average sediment concentration.These findings provide valuable insights for regional soil and water conservation efforts.关键词
