Abstract
Objective To analyze the status and trends in dietary behaviors,physical activity,and adverse emotions among middle school students in Shanghai,and provide evidence-based recommendations for improving adolescent health behaviors.Methods Based on surveillance data of adolescent health risk behaviors collected across 16 districts of Shanghai in 2019 and 2021,this study analyzed and compared dietary behaviors,physical activity,and adverse emotions of middle school students.Results For dietary behaviors,in 2021,the reported consumption rates within the past 7 d were 92.85%for fresh fruits,98.83%for vegetables,and 94.10%for milk/yogurt(1 tumbler/d),showing significant increases compared with 2019(89.59%,94.04%,and 93.48%,respectively;all P<0.05);reported consumption of sugary beverages(84.47%vs 82.63%),desserts(83.29%vs 81.16%),and fried foods(73.47%vs 68.90%)also increased significantly from 2019(all P<0.05).For physical activity,the proportion of students meeting the recommended≥60 min of daily physical activity increased significantly from 20.03%in 2019 to 21.44%in 2021(P<0.05).For adverse emotions,significant improvements were observed in loneliness(55.30%in 2021 vs 59.86%in 2019),academic distress(74.67%vs 78.25%),and worry-induced insomnia(51.26%vs 54.58%).All decreases were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with 2019,middle school students in Shanghai demonstrated significant improvements in healthy dietary behaviors,physical activity,and adverse emotions by 2021.But the rise in unhealthy dietary behaviors calls for stronger health promotion measures.关键词
