摘要
Abstract
Objective To assess anxiety status in children with asthma using questionnaires, and investigate its associations with treatment compliance, symptom control, sleep, and quality of life. Methods A total of 126 school-aged children with asthma were enrolled and divided into two groups:the acute asthma attack group(n=84)and the well-controlled asthma group(n=42).Anxiety,treatment compliance, sleep, symptom control, and quality of life were assessed using the screen for child anxiety related emotional disorders(SCARED),the Morisky-Green(MG)medication adherence scale, the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),the childhood asthma control test(C-ACT),and the pediatric asthma quality of life questionnaire(PAQLQ),respectively. Results A total of 118 valid questionnaires were collected, including 80 from the acute asthma attack group and 38 from the well-controlled asthma group.Among these,36 children in the acute asthma attack group exhibited anxiety(12 mild,18 moderate, and 6 severe cases),while 9 children in the well-controlled asthma group showed anxiety(6 mild and 3 moderate cases).Significant differences were observed in both the incidence and severity of anxiety between the two groups(both P<0.05).In children with acute asthma attack, anxiety was significantly associated with asthma duration, disease severity, family income, and place of residence(all P<0.05).These children demonstrated significantly lower scores on the MG,C-ACT,and PAQLQ with a severity gradient of mild>moderate>severe(all P<0.001),and significantly higher PSQI scores with a severity gradient of mild<moderate<severe(P<0.001).The SCARED scores showed significantly negative correlations with MG,C-ACT,and PAQLQ scores(all P<0.05),and a significantly positive correlation with PSQI scores(P<0.05).Conclusion A significant proportion of school-aged children with asthma experience anxiety, especially during acute asthma attack. This anxiety is frequently accompanied by poor treatment compliance, impaired sleep quality, suboptimal symptom control, and reduced quality of life.关键词
