Recent developments in biomedical imaging of metalenses
摘要
Abstract
In the field of biomedical imaging,traditional optical systems struggle to meet the requirements for miniaturization and integration due to limitations in size and complexity.As two-dimensional metasurface structures used for focusing and imaging applications,metalenses can precisely manipulate the electromagnetic properties of light waves,providing innovative solutions for the miniaturization of imaging devices.This review aims to summarize the latest advancements in metalenses for biomedical imaging applications.First,the basic principles of wavefront manipulation by metalenses are outlined,including the generalized Snell's law and methods such as phase modulation,amplitude modulation,polarization modulation,and angular momentum modulation.Then,metalenses are classified into four categories:aberration-corrected metalenses,multifunctional metalenses,high numerical aperture metalenses,and metalenses integrated with other devices.Second,the design methodologies and fabrication techniques of metalenses are summarized.Finally,research progresses of metalenses in biomedical imaging applications are reviewed by category,including endoscopy,two-photon fluorescence microscopy,light-sheet fluorescence microscopy,differential interference contrast microscopy,and quantitative phase imaging.关键词
