Effects of personalized supervised nursing on physiological stress,negative emotion and postoperative complications in elderly patients undergoing tooth extraction

Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of personalized supervised nursing on physiological stress,anxiety,de-pression,and postoperative complications in elderly patients undergoing tooth extraction.Methods 80 elderly patients who underwent tooth extraction in Department of Stomatology of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital from January 2024 to March 2025 were selected.Based on different nursing methods,they were divided into observation group(n=40)and control group(n=40).Both groups underwent conventional surgical tooth extraction.The observation group received personalized supervised nursing,while the control group received conventional nursing.The physiological stress,negative emotions and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results At admission and after tooth extraction,there were no statisti-cally significant differences in heart rate and mean arterial pressure between the two groups(P＞0.05).Before anesthesia and 5 minutes after anesthesia,both groups showed increases in heart rate and mean arterial pressure,while the observation group had lower heart rate and mean arterial pressure than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Af-ter the intervention,the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale(MDAS)score(11.26±2.04)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)score(38.85±4.52)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(14.83±2.72,46.69±5.10)(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Personalized supervised nursing can reduce the physiological stress response of elderly patients with tooth extraction,relieve their anxiety and depression,but it has no significant effect on the incidence of postopera-tive complications.关键词
