Advances in Clinical Research on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
摘要
Abstract
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)is an extracorporeal life support device designed for patients with severe cardiopulmonary failure,providing respiratory and circulatory support.It works by oxygenating venous blood into arterial blood,thereby improving tissue oxygen supply.ECMO maintains respiratory and circulatory stability,buying time for the treatment of intrinsic cardiopulmonary failure until the patient's own cardiopulmonary function recovers and ECMO can be withdrawn.In recent years,ECMO has seen increasingly widespread clinical application,with a rapid rise in case numbers,continuous improvement in clinical outcomes,and expanding indications.Research on ECMO has deepened,yielding significant progress in areas such as artificial intelligence-based prediction of patient prognosis,cardiogenic shock,septic shock,extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation(ECPR),left ventricular decompression,oxygen titration,prone positioning,and blood transfusion.This article aimed to review the latest clinical research advances in ECMO across these domains for clinical reference.关键词
