Psychological quality and emotional resilience in adolescents:a latent profile analysis

Abstract
Objective To explore the latent categories of psychological quality in adolescents,analyze the demographic influencing factors,and examine the relationship between psychological quality and emotional resilience.Methods Using cluster random sampling,we surveyed students in grade one from a senior high school in Hebei Province.The participants completed the brief psychological quality scale for middle school students(health version)and the adolescent emotional resilience questionnaire to measure their psychological quality and emotional resilience levels.A total of 724 valid questionnaires were obtained.Latent profile analysis(LPA)was conducted to classify adolescents'psychological quality,and multinomial Logistic regression was used to analyze the influence of demographic variables on the latent categories of psychological quality.Additionally,ANOVA was performed to examine the relationship between latent categories of psychological quality and emotional resilience.Results LPA identified three distinct psychological quality profiles:low psychological quality group(n=94,13.0%),moderate psychological quality group(n=394,54.4%),and high psychological quality group(n=236,32.6%).Compared to the low psychological quality group,only children were more likely to belong to the high psychological quality group(OR=1.77,P<0.05);adolescents who grew up with both parents were more likely to be classified into the high psychological quality group(OR=4.60,P<0.05).The total emotional resilience score and its sub-dimension scores of the low psychological quality group were significantly lower than those of the moderate and high psychological quality groups(P<0.001).Conclusion Adolescents'psychological quality can be classified into three latent classes.Being an only child and upbringing experiences are effective predictors of psychological quality category.Furthermore,psychological quality latent categories are closely associated with emotional resilience.These findings provide a rational basis for developing personalized intervention strategies.关键词
