Emerging Technology Identification Through Technology Evolution and Knowledge Flow in Discontinuous Innovation Perspective

Abstract
[Research purpose]Against the backdrop of the profound restructuring of global technological competition,the identification of emerging technologies urgently requires a departure from traditional technology-oriented analytical paradigms and a shift toward research directions that integrate theory and technology.To address this,this study adopts the perspective of discontinuous innovation and proposes a novel method for identifying emerging technologies based on"technology evolution-knowledge flow".[Research method]By tracking the nonlinear trajectory of technology evolution and the characteristics of knowledge flow,this method achieves precise identification of e-merging technologies.Building on the use of the SimCSE model to generate representations of patent abstracts and calculate similarity,this study measures knowledge flow through scientific knowledge adoption.It constructs a feature system comprising three dimensions:techno-logical novelty,development potential,and scientific knowledge adoption.Various machine learning models are trained,and the optimal model is selected based on evaluation results to enable precise identification of emerging technologies.[Research result/conclusion]An empirical study in the field of drones fully validates the effectiveness of this method.It provides clear insights into the development trends of emerging technologies in the drone field.Not only does it offer scientific guidance for industrial development in China,but it also drives the transformation of emerging technology identification toward a multidimensional research paradigm that integrates theory and technology.关键词
