Abstract
The comparison of hourly average wind data from two wind profile radars in Hefei in 2022 with ERA5 reanalysis data for zonal and meridional wind components reveals that the acquisition rate of wind profile radar data decreases with increasing heights,dropping below 80%above 3 km.Overall,there is a high correlation between wind profile radar data and ERA5 data,with minimal bias and RMSE.Winter exhibits the highest data quality,followed successively by summer,spring and autumn.Above 975 hPa,the correlation coefficients between wind profile radar data and ERA5 data for both zonal and meridional wind components tend to decrease with height increasing,accompanied with the increase of the root mean square error,which peaks at 5.36 m/s for the meridional wind at Chaohu Station in autumn.Precipitation significantly affects the performance of wind profile radars,resulting in substantially larger errors during precipitation periods compared to non-precipitation periods,particularly for meridional winds.关键词
