摘要

Abstract

The east Kunlun metallogenic belt in Qinghai province is a critical area for nonferrous and precious metal exploration,attracting continuous geological investigations and scientific research.The discovery of Haidewula deposit,the first independent continental volcanic rock-related uranium deposit in northwest China,has shifted more scholars attention toward the region's uranium exploration and mineralization.Based on the collection of the existing uranium exploration data in the east Kunlun metallogenic belt,this paper first describes the geological context of uranium mineralization,highlights recent exploration achievements,and analyzes typical uranium deposits.Our analysis of the geological characteristics and ore control mechanisms of the uranium deposits reveals that uranium mineralization in the area has no metallogenic specificity with strata and lithology,the strata only contribute to the uranium source.Instead,fault structures play a crucial role,the mineralization primarily are controlled by secondary NW-trending and NE-trending faults and fractures.Uranium mineralization is also closely related to magmatic rocks,in that rock intrusion not only provides a steady supply of hydrothermal fluids and energy for mineralization,but is also an important source of uranium.Nearly all uranium mineralization events occurred during the Indosinian period,predominantly forming low-high temperature hydrothermal deposits.It is important to note that ground radioactive investigation in the east Kunlun metallogenic belt was interrupted for quite a long time,resulting the low exploration level in the western part,many delineated small-scale ground radioactive and water sediments uranium anomalies have not been effectively dissected,Therefore,the space for further prospecting is huge.
