Abstract

In order to understand the geochemical characteristics and pollution degree of heavy metals in surface sediments near the Tongguling-Qinglan Bay,the geochemical and spatial distribution characteristics of 7 heavy metals in the surface sediments of Tongguling-Qinglan Bay were studied,and the pollution degree of heavy metals was evaluated by means of geoaccumulation index,Nemero composite index and potential ecological hazard index.The results showed that the contents of heavy metals in the surface sediments of Tongguling-Qinglan Bay were generally low.The contents of Cu,Pb,Zn,Cr,Cd,As and Hg were 3.37~27.81,6.77~39.79,0.50~110.00,3.38~73.92,0.03~0.17,2.50~17.02 μg·g-1 and 3.36~105.03 ng·g-1,respectively,which were in line with the first class standard of'Marine sediment quality:GB 18668-2002'.The abundance and spatial distribution of Cu,Pb,Zn,Cr and Hg were mainly controlled by the size of the elements particle and the adsorption of organic carbon,and their material sources were mainly terrestrial fine-grained sediments.The source and distribution of As and Cd were mainly affected by human activities,and Cd was also affected by the enrichment of biological food chains.The results of the three evaluation methods all indicated that the heavy metals in the surface sediments of the study area were not significantly polluted,the potential ecological hazards of heavy metals were low,and the environmental quality was fine.
