A Study on the Discourse Differences and Strategy Thinking in the Introductions of"American Frontier Strategy"Between Chinese and American Encyclopedias
摘要
Abstract
[Research purpose]This study aims to analyze the online encyclopedia entries about the"American Frontier Strategy"from China and the United States.The objective is to identify and compare the characteristics,similarities,and differences of their discourse strategies,to provide recommendations for China to gain a comprehensive understanding of the"American Frontier Strategy"and enhance its discourse within online encyclopedia entries.[Research method]This study employs a corpus research method utilizing the KH Coder for quantitative analysis of high-frequency words,co-occurrence networks,and thematic modeling results from a bilingual corpus of ency-clopedia entries on the"American Frontier Strategy"from China and the United States.The aim is to systematically organize textual con-tent and trace factors influencing these encyclopedia entries.[Research result/conclusion]Both Chinese and American encyclopedias can deliver objective and concise introductions regarding the historical evolution and prominent figures associated with the"American Frontier Strategy".However,while American encyclopedias provide more information on the pioneering spirit exhibited by American settlers dur-ing westward expansion,Chinese encyclopedias offer greater insights into how the"American Frontier Strategy"has influenced politics,e-conomy,and military affairs in addition to its impact on not only America but also other nations.These disparities stem from the differ-ences in intelligence cognition and strategic thinking between the two countries,and thus deeply understand the behavior patterns of China and the United States in the field of global intelligence is of great significance.关键词
