Abstract

Precipitation concentration degree(PCD)and precipitation concentration period(PCP)are key indicators reflecting the temporal distribution characteristics of regional precipitation and are closely related to drought and flood disasters.As an important water system in the southeastern coastal area of China,the Minjiang River Basin is greatly affected by the monsoon climate,and the precipitation during the flood season is crucial for its water resource replenishment.This paper studied the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of PCD and PCP during the flood season in the Minjiang River Basin from 1960 to 2023,providing a theoretical basis for coping with climate change and formulating water resource management strategies.By using the daily precipitation data of 21 meteorological stations in the Minjiang River Basin from 1960 to 2023,methods such as vector analysis and ordinary Kriging interpolation were adopted to study the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of PCD and PCP during the flood season in the basin.In terms of inter-annual variation,PCD during the early flood season in both the upper and lower reaches increased,with large inter-annual differences;PCD during the late flood season increased in the upper reaches and decreased in the lower reaches.PCP during the early flood season in both the upper and lower reaches increased slightly,and the maximum precipitation in the lower reaches occurred relatively late.During the late flood season,PCP increased in the upper reaches and decreased in the lower reaches.The inter-annual difference in the upper reaches was large,with obvious precipitation fluctuations,while the downward trend in the lower reaches was weak.In terms of spatial variation,the high-value areas of PCD during the early flood season were in the southern part and the lower reaches of the basin,and the low-value areas were near the tributaries in the northwestern upper reaches.The spatial distribution of PCD during the late flood season was approximately centrosymmetric.The value in the middle of the upper reaches was small and fluctuated greatly,while the value in the lower reaches was stable and relatively high.In addition,as the area was closer to the estuary,the value was higher.PCP during the early flood season increased from north to south,and the time of the maximum precipitation was postponed.PCP during the late flood season had obvious regional differences in the upper reaches.The value in the northern part was low,and the value in some southern areas was high.The value in the lower reaches was generally high,and as the area was closer to the estuary,the value got higher,and PCP occurred later.The spatial and temporal variation characteristics of PCD and PCP during the early and late flood seasons in the Minjiang River Basin were obvious.There were differences in PCD and PCP in different regions and periods,which were affected by various factors such as topography,atmospheric circulation,and ocean regulation.
