Roles of Antioxidants in Cardiac Complications of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is a globally prevalent metabolic disorder,and patients often suf-fer from various cardiac complications,the occurrence of which is closely associated with oxidative stress.Oxidative stress has been demonstrated to result in cellular damage,inflammatory responses,and endothelial dysfunction,thereby increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.Antioxidants have emerged as a potential therapeutic agent,alleviating the occurrence and development of T2DM-related cardiac complications by re-ducing cellular damage,regulating inflammatory responses,and improving endothelial function.This article provides a comprehensive review of the mechanisms of action of antioxidants in T2DM-related cardiac com-plications,current clinical research progress,and future application prospects,aiming to offer valuable insights for clinical practice and to facilitate the application of antioxidants in the treatment of cardiac complications.关键词
