樟叶槿Hibiscus cinnamomifolius Chun & Tsiang的名称恢复及其繁殖与栽培适应性
Reinstatement of the Name Hibiscus cinnamomifolius Chun & Tsiang and Its Propagation and Cultivation Adaptability

Abstract
Hibiscus cinnamomifolius Chun & Tsiang was described and published in Sunyatsenia in 1939,and then cited by Flora of Hainan in 1965.However,the species has subsequently been treated as synony-mous with H.grewiifolius Hassk.,a species native to South Asia,in major Chinese floras including Reipub-licae Popularis Sinicae,Sylva Sinica,Higher Plants of China,and Flora of China,as well as numerous online databases.This study,through integrated approaches including literature review,specimen examination,image verification,field survey,and propagation and cultivation experiments,confirmed that H.cinnamomifolius constitutes a distinct species that cannot be treated as a synonym of H.grewiifolius.Its valid name should be reinstated.This paper also made additional and corrective description of morphology and distribution alti-tudes of H.cinnamomifolius.This species is endemic to Hainan Province of China,and should be assessed as Critically Endangered(CR)based on International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN)Red List.It has high ornamental value,is pollinated by Megachile sp.and can be propagated by both seeds and cuttings.However,the species cannot tolerate subzero temperatures,and is therefore only suitable for cultivation in southern regions of the Nanling Mountains and other frost-free subtropical to tropical regions.关键词
