Effects of combined application of biochar and sugarcane bagasse on soil nutrients and microbial community in tobacco-planting soil

Abstract
Biochar and sugarcane bagasse are good soil amendments,both of which can significantly improve the quality of tobacco-planting soils in Ruyuan Yao autonomous county.The effects of the combined application of biochar and sugarcane bagasse on the nutrients,soil structure and microorganisms of tobacco-planting soils were explored by an experiment which set up two factors,including:1)Biochar(B),B1:0 kg/hm2 of biochar,B2:12000 kg/hm2 of biochar;B3:24000 kg/hm2 of biochar;2)Sugarcane bagasse(C),C0:0 kg/hm2 of sugarcane bagasse,C1:11250 kg/hm2 of sugarcane bagasse.There was a total of six treatments:C0B0,C0B1,C0B2,C1B0,C1B1,C1B2.The results showed that,under the same C level,the B2 treatment significantly increased the soil pH.The application of biochar significantly reduced the soil bulk density.The application of high-dose biochar significantly increased the contents of total nitrogen and total phosphorus.Biochar combined with sugarcane bagasse application changed soil aggregate grain size,average weight diameter(MWD),and percentage of water stable aggregate(WSA),with the C1B1 and C1B2 treatments significantly increasing the percentage of large aggregates,MWD,and WSA,and significantly decreasing the percentage of small aggregates and microaggregates.The application of sugarcane bagasse significantly increased the soil organic carbon content.Under the same C level,the B2 treatment was significantly higher than other treatments.After the application of sugarcane bagasse,the microbial biomass carbon content was significantly increased,compared with that without the application of sugarcane bagasse.After the application of sugarcane bagasse,the contents of soil catalase,urease,invertase and alkaline phosphatase were enbanced.Among them,under the C1 treatment,the catalase content in the B2 treatment was the highest,and the activities of soil urease and invertase were the highest under the B1 treatment.Under the application of biochar and sugarcane bagasse,the dominant bacteria in the soil were Proteobacteria,Acidobacteriota,Chloroflexi,Actinobacteriota,Gemmatimonadota and other bacteria;the dominant fungal phyla were Ascomycota,Mortierellomycota,Basidiomycota,Rozellomycota and other fungi.The stem circumference,plant height,and number of effective leaves of C1 treatment were significantly higher than those of C0 treatment.The proportion of middle and superior tobacco in C1B1 and C1B2 treatments was significantly higher than that in other treatments,and the theoretical output value of C1B1 treatment was the highest.In conclusion,the combined application of biochar and sugarcane bagasse could significantly improve the nutrients of tobacco-planting soils and the stability of soil structure,enhance soil enzyme activities,and improve the soil microbial community.Among them,the combination of 12000 kg/hm2 of biochar and 11250 kg/hm2 of sugarcane bagasse had a better effect,which provided a feasible scheme for the fertilization measures of tobacco-planting soils in Ruyuan.关键词
