Promoting the development of domestic scientific research instruments:Key initiatives and practices

Abstract
[Significance]The development of domestic instruments holds paramount importance in Chinese pursuit of independent innovation.In the field of science and technology,instruments and equipment serve as the foundation for research and development,playing a pivotal role in industries such as scientific research,manufacturing,and environmental monitoring.However,a long-standing overreliance on imported instruments has created a chokehold problem,restricting Chinese technological autonomy and development potential.Promoting the development of domestic instruments is thus critical to breaking free from this constraint,enhancing independent innovation capabilities,and ensuring more stable and sustainable long-term growth.This initiative not only helps reduce the cost of scientific research and industrial production but also fosters a domestic instrument ecosystem,generates employment opportunities,and drives technological advancement in related fields.[Progress]To address the chokehold issue,relevant national departments,universities,research institutions,and enterprises have collaboratively advanced the development of domestic instruments.First,dedicated R&D projects have been launched with substantial financial and policy support.These projects target key areas such as high-end analytical instruments and precision manufacturing equipment,driving research into core technologies like sensors,control systems,and data processing algorithms.As a result,significant breakthroughs have been made,narrowing the gap with international standards.Second,wide-ranging publicity and promotional efforts have strengthened brand awareness for domestic instruments.Industry exhibitions,seminars,and online marketing campaigns have enabled manufacturers to showcase new products and technological achievements,attracting more users and improving market acceptance.The creation of a dedicated domestic instrument section on the national network management platform has been a major milestone.This centralized hub offers real-time updates on product catalogs,research progress,and application cases,facilitating information sharing among stakeholders and helping users make informed purchasing decisions.Application demonstrations and performance evaluations have also been implemented to assess the reliability and effectiveness of domestic instruments.These tests,conducted in various industries and settings,identify strengths and areas for improvement,allowing for iterative refinement.In large-scale instrument procurement,mechanisms for reviewing duplicate purchases,along with targeted support and guidance for domestic products,have significantly reduced redundant imports.Additionally,evaluations related to the openness and sharing of research facilities and instruments have emphasized domestic alternatives,encouraging institutions to prioritize domestic products.Loan policies that favor the purchase of domestic instruments have further provided a financial boost to the sector.[Conclusions and Prospects]In conclusion,the coordinated efforts of stakeholders have yielded substantial progress in developing domestic instruments and gradually decreasing Chinese dependence on foreign imports.Nonetheless,further work is needed to enhance global competitiveness.Going forward,it is essential to strengthen talent cultivation through deeper collaboration between enterprises and academic institutions.Establishing more industry-university-research platforms will allow emerging professionals to participate in practical R&D projects,fostering a highly skilled workforce.Continued investment in basic research is also necessary to develop original technologies and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of domestic instruments.To expand into international markets,domestic manufacturers should engage in global standard-setting,elevate product quality and service standards,and build strong international brand recognition.With sustained technological advancement and favorable policy support,Chinese domestic instrument industry is poised for significant future development,contributing meaningfully to the country's scientific and technological progress as well as its broader economic growth.关键词
