摘要

Abstract

To investigate the alterations of small-molecule metabolites in the serum of brucella-infected sheep in Qinghai province,this study employed ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole-orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry(UHPLC-QExactive-Orbitrap MS/MS)to analyze the metabolomic profiles of sheep serum infected with Brucella.The results revealed 15 significantly differential metabolites between three infected sheep and three healthy sheep.A-mong these,except for isotretinoin,kynurenic acid,phenylacetylglycine,eicosapentaenoic acid,and(±)12(13)-DiHOME,the levels of the remaining 10 differential metabolites were decreased.KEGG pathway analysis indicated that these differential metab-olites were primarily enriched in key metabolic pathways such as phenylalanine,tyrosine,and tryptophan biosynthesis;histidine metabolism;the pentose phosphate pathway;and primary bile acid biosynthesis.This study elucidates the characteris-tics of host metabolic dysregulation induced by brucella in-fection from a metabolomic perspective.The identified differ-ential metabolites provide potential molecular markers for the early diagnosis of brucellosis,while also laying an impor-tant theoretical foundation for a deeper understanding of its pathogenic mechanisms and the development of novel pre-vention and control strategies.These findings hold significant scientific value for the healthy development of animal hus-bandry and public health security.
