Abstract
Probabilistic amplitude shaping(PAS)is a key technique for approaching the Shannon capacity.The existing block-code-based PAS(BC-PAS)scheme replaces the conventional distribution matcher with a block code decoder,thereby maintaining comparable performance while significantly reducing receiver complexity.However,in a 2m-ary pulse amplitude modulation(PAM)system,BC-PAS is inherently constrained by the spectral efficiency η,which must satisfy η≥m-1.To overcome this limitation,a partial-shaping BC-PAS method is proposed.By selectively shaping only a subset of the m-1 amplitude bits within the 2m-ary PAM signal,the scheme enables spectral efficiency expansion under η<m-1.This approach provides a more flexible and efficient rate adaptation solution for future sixth-generation mobile communication systems.关键词
