As a traditional Chinese medicine,honeysuckle is rich in organic acids,volatile oils,flavonoids,iridoids and triterpenoid saponins.Its antibacterial,anti-inflammatory and repair promoting functions provide a natural solution for the prevention and treatment of oral diseases.This paper systematically reviewed the active ingredients of honeysuckle and its research progress and application status in the prevention and treat-ment of oral diseases,provided a theoretical basis for the integration of honeysuckle and modern oral medicine research,and pointed out the po-tential direction of clinical transformation and industrial development.
