Abstract
Remediation of cadmium-contaminated soils has become a critical issue for ensuring farmland safety.Significant progress has been made in southern China through the application of passivation, phytoremediation, and integrated remediation technologies.Passivating materials reduce cadmium bioavailability via chemical transformation, with composite passivators achieving over 90%suppression of cadmium accumula-tion in rice.Hyperaccumulator plants, combined with agronomic practices, effectively decrease bioavailable cadmium, while microbial-enhanced systems improve overall remediation efficiency.Integrated approaches that synergize passivation, plants, and microbes further mitigate cadmium migration risks. However, current technologies face challenges such as the instability of passivators, the lengthy cycles required for phytoremedi-ation,and the complexity of synergistic mechanisms.Future research should focus on developing environmentally adaptive materials, incorporating genetic engineering and intelligent monitoring technologies, and designing regional management models that balance remediation efficiency,eco-logical safety, and economic feasibility. These innovations are key to achieving sustainable and safe utilization of farmland.关键词
