Research Progress on Silica Aerogel With Energy Threshold for Gamma-Ray Imaging
摘要
Abstract
In this paper,several highly transparent silica aerogel materials with different densities and refractive index are developed for ultra-fast gamma-ray imaging with various energy thresholds.Techniques for spectral analysis and refractive index measurement are established to accurately characterize and analyze spectral absorption and optical scattering and refractive index of porous media materials like aerogels,providing critical inputs for theoretical simulations.On the steady-state radiation source,the relationship between optical transmittance of aerogel materials and irradiation dose is investigated.Time-response performance of Cherenkov radiation is assessed using an ultrafast electron accelerator.The feasibility of using Cherenkov radiation based on silica aerogel for ultra-fast gamma-ray imaging with energy threshold is preliminarily proved.In these developed materials,the response time of Cherenkov radiation light is below 100 ps.The energy threshold for gamma-ray detection is adjustable from 1 to 5 MeV.关键词
