Abstract

In order to investigate the abundance and activity of Tupaia belangeri,Apodemus chevrieri and Callosciurus erythraeus in Diaocao Mountain,Xiaguan Town,Dali City,Yunnan Province,in A-pril-May 2024,three small mammals in this area were surveyed using infrared camera technology.A total of 30 infrared cameras were deployed,19 effective camera sites,570 camera working days,and 1074 independent effective photos of three small mammals were obtained.The occurrence frequency and relative abundance of the three species were calculated,and the daily activity intensity of the three animals was analyzed based on the kernel density estimation method.In the present study,the relative abundance of T.belangeri was the largest,while the abundance of C.erythraeus and A.chevrieri were smaller.T.belangeri and C.erythraeus were both diurnal animals with frequent morning and dusk ac-tivities,while A.chevrieri was active frequently at night,being a nocturnal animal.The richness of species and their activity rhythms contributed to providing a basis for future research as well as the conservation and management of species.
