Abstract
On June 3,2024,a large number of pox-like lesions affecting abdomens,legs and wing folds of broiler chickens were found on an eco-farming cooperative in Songzi City,Hubei Province,severely compromising product quality.In order to determine the etiology,and to identify potential risk of transmission,an emergency investigation was conducted through on-site inspection,interview,sampling,laboratory testing,clinical screening,therapeutic intervention,etc..It was investigated and inferred that the chickens were infected with Neoschongastia gallinarum,and the cooperative was identified as a historical endemic site with outdated practices,where technicians were lack of knowledge about the disease,and biosecurity measures were not strictly implemented during production and movement of the chickens,causing the occurrence and transmission of the disease.The outbreak was effectively controlled through biosecurity measures including application of targeted medications such as phoxim,quarantine and disinfection for affected chickens,disinfection for transport equipment,as well as comprehensive interventions including environmental remediation around the farm.In conclusion,it was important to guarantee early detection,accurate diagnosis and effective containment of the diseases through improving precise practices,and rigorously implementing all biosecurity systems under the eco-production system.关键词
