Research Status and Prospects of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Anti-Infection
摘要
Abstract
Objective To provide reference for clinical use of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in treating infectious diseases and the conduct of relevant research.Methods Ancient Chinese medical classics were reviewed to summarize the historical evolution of anti-infection theories in TCM.The prospect of anti-infective TCM were expected by combing with the mechanism of modern clinical application and the clinical application status of anti-infective TCM.Results In TCM infectious diseases were regaarded as ″epidemic diseases″,proposing different views of treatment based on syndrome differentiation across different dynasties,but most of them were treated with TCM and prescriptions for clearing heat,removing toxicity,and purging fire;Modern medicine divided anti-infective TCM into five categories according to the types of pathogens,with different mechanisms;current clinical practice frequently combined anti-infective TCM with Western medicines,enabling better remove drug-resistant bacteria;the adverse reactions and pharmacovigilance of TCM were mostly occured in TCM injections,which has been better controlled in recent years.There were many studies on anti-bacterial diseases,viruses and some fungal infections of TCM,but few of them were on anti-other pathogenic microorganisms except artemisinin,which was widely recognized for anti-malaria effect.Conclusion It is necessary to paying attention to and explore the effective components of anti-infective TCM,analyze their pathways of action,to better meet the clinical evidence demand for anti-infective TCM.Meanwhile,clinical should take symptomatic treatment,administer medication according to regulations,carry out reasonable compatibility,and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.关键词
