Effect of compound Lianxian powder on the growth performance and antioxidant function of white-feathered broilers

Abstract
This experiment aims to investigate the effects of compound Lianxian powder on the growth performance,digestive organ development,serum growth hormone,and antioxidant indicators,as well as the expression levels of growth hormone and antioxidant-related genes of white-feathered broilers.Two hundred and forty 1-day-old healthy white-feathered broilers were selected and randomly divided into 3 treatment groups and a control group according to body weight,with six replicates of 10 birds per group.The control group was fed with the basal diet,while the treatment groups had 1 g/kg,2 g/kg,and 4 g/kg of compound Lianxian powder,respectively,added to the basal diet.The experimental period was 42 days.On day 21 and 42 of the experiment,growth performance of all groups were measured,blood samples were collected to determine growth hormone levels and antioxidant indicators,and the liver,jejunum,and ileum tissues were collected to assess gene expression levels.The results showed that compound Lianxian powder at a dose of 2 g/kg and 4 g/kg could significantly increase the average daily weight gain(P<0.05)and reduce the feed conversion ratio of broilers(P<0.05).All doses of compound Lianxian powder could significantly increase the liver(P<0.05)and glandular stomach indices(P<0.05)of 21-day-old broilers.The compound Lianxian powder at a dose of 2 g/kg could significantly increase the serum IGF-1 level(P<0.05)and the relative length of the ileum(P<0.05)of 21-day-old broilers and significantly increase the relative weight of the duodenum and ileum of 42-day-old broilers(P<0.05).The compound Lianxian powder at a dose of 4 g/kg could significantly increase the serum GH(42 days)level of broilers(P<0.05)and upregulate the expression levels of IGF-1 and GH(21-day-old and 42-day-old)genes in the liver(P<0.05).All doses of compound Lianxian powder could significantly increase the serum T-AOC activity of 42-day-old broilers(P<0.05)and significantly reduce the serum MDA content of 21-day-old broilers(P<0.05).All doses of compound Lianxian powder could upregulate the expression levels of GHR,mTOR,Nrf2,HO-1,and NQO1 genes in the liver of 42-day-old broilers(P<0.05).The compound Lianxian powder(2 g/kg and 4 g/kg)could upregulate the expression levels of Nrf2 and HO-1 genes in the liver,jejunum,and ileum of 21-day-old broilers(P<0.05).The compound Lianxian powder at a dose of 2 g/kg could upregulate the expression levels of SOD1 and CAT(21-day-old and 42-day-old broilers),NQO1(21-day-old broilers),and GSH-Px(42-day-old broilers)genes in the liver and jejunum of broilers(P<0.05).The study has shown that adding a compound Lianxian powder to the basic diet can effectively improve the growth performance,digestive organ index,growth hormone,and antioxidant function of white-feathered broilers.The more appropriate addition amount is 2 g/kg.关键词
