Effects of intradermal needle embedding at the back-shu points combined with pulmonary rehabilitation training on lung function and quality of life in stable COPD patients

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of intradermal needle embedding at the back-shu points combined with pulmonary rehabilitation training on lung function and quality of life in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Method Patients with COPD who visited the Hangzhou Third People's Hospital of from March 2023 to March 2024 were enrolled and randomly assigned,using a random number table,into an observation group and a control group.Both groups received conventional basic treatment and nursing care.The control group underwent pulmonary rehabilitation training,while the observation group received intradermal needle embedding at the back-shu points before pulmonary rehabilitation training.Both groups were treated three times per week for eight weeks.Lung function indicators,including forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC),and FEV1 as a percentage of the predicted value(FEV1%),6-minute walk distance(6MWD),COPD Assessment Test(CAT)score,BODE index score,clinical efficacy,and safety were compared before and after treatment for eight weeks.Results After treatment,FEV1,FEV1/FVC,and FEV1%improved in both groups compared with baseline(P<0.05),with the observation group showing greater improvement(P<0.05).The 6MWD increased and CAT and BODE index scores decreased in both groups after treatment(P<0.05)with the observation group showing superior improvements compared with the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).No adverse reactions such as allergies or infections were observed in either group during the study.Conclusion Intradermal needle embedding at the back-shu points combined with pulmonary rehabilitation training can significantly improve lung function and exercise capacity,enhance quality of life,and is safe for patients with stable COPD.关键词
