摘要

Abstract

The debris and secretions of soil fungi,bacteria,and archaea are important components of stable soil organic carbon.Therefore,accurately analyzing the community composition and abundance of microorganisms at different soil depths is essential for understanding the formation and stability of soil organic carbon.In this study,we mainly focused on microorganisms in the surface(0-10 cm)and subsurface(10-20 cm)soils of the meadow steppe in Inner Mongolia.Based on metagenomic sequencing analysis of soil microorganisms,the following results were observed:1)Mucoromycota,a saprophytic fungus,was more abundant in the subsurface soil,while Olpidiomycota,a parasitic oil pot fungus found on plant stems and leaves,was more prevalent in the surface soil;2)the relative abundance of carbon-fixing archaea(Candidatus_Thermoplasmatota)and carbon-fixing bacteria(Chloroflexiota and Nitrospinae)was significantly higher in the subsurface layer than in the surface soil;3)the abundance of carbon fixation pathways in autotrophic microorganisms did not differ significantly between the surface and subsurface layers,but the abundance of the key enzyme gene porA,shared by both the rTCA and DC/4-HB pathways,was higher in the 10-20 cm soil.These findings indicate that soil fungi,carbon-fixing archaea,and bacteria are unevenly distributed along the vertical profile of the meadow steppe soil.The higher abundance of carbon-fixing microorganisms in the subsurface layer suggests a greater potential for CO2 fixation within the soil of the meadow steppe.
