Responses of dominant Tenebrionoidea species in the Ningxia steppe to soil and climate factors
摘要
Abstract
To explore the dominant species and their responses to soil and climate factors across four steppe types in Ningxia,we investigated species diversity across 32 plots, based on the steppe type distribution in the region. We analyzed species composition, diversity differences, and their responses to soil and climate variables.A total of 47 Tenebrionoidea species were recorded. In the temperate meadow steppe, the dominant species were Scytosoma pygmaeum,Anatolica potanini, and A.ebenina.The temperate steppe was dominated by S.opaca,Blaps femoralis, and B.femoralis medusula. In the temperate desert steppe,Microdera kraatzi and B.femoralis were dominant, while the temperate steppe desert was dominated by Cyphogenia chinensis,M.kraatzi, and B.femoralis.In total, eight species were identified as dominant across the four grassland types.Pearson correlation analysis revealed that the abundance of these eight dominant species was correlated with soil and climate factors.Specifically,B.femoralis,A.ebenina,and M.kraatzi showed positive correlations with soil bulk density, soil pH,and ambient temperature, and negative correlations with field water capacity, soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen content, and elevation(P<0.05).In contrast,S.pygmaeum exhibited a significant positive correlation with soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen and elevation(P<0.05),and a significant negative correlation with soil bulk density and ambient temperature(P<0.05).Blaps femoralis and M.kraatzi were the most dominant species in the Ningxia grasslands.Their abundances were linearly correlated with soil and climate factors.Specifically, both species were positively correlated with soil bulk density, soil pH,and ambient temperature(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with field water capacity, soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen levels, elevation, and precipitation(P<0.05).In conclusion, the composition and distribution of dominant species in the Ningxia steppe are significantly affected by soil and climate factors. This study has important implications for biodiversity conservation and the use of dominant species as ecological indicators in grassland ecosystems.关键词
